Questions owners ask before they start.
NounDesk manages company-owned Android phones and tablets (Android 8 or newer) for small businesses without an IT department. You need one business Google account, connected once. No separate app is installed on phones. Location is visible only in lost mode. Nothing is erased automatically when an employee leaves. There is a free demo mode, a 14-day free trial with no card, and monthly per-device pricing with no contract.
General
Do I need an IT person?
No. Setup is guided and takes about ten minutes. Every setting is written in plain English and says which Android versions support it.
What devices work?
Company-owned Android phones and tablets, Android 8 or newer, factory reset at enrollment. Not iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac or personal devices.
Do I need a Google account?
Yes, one business Google account to connect once. Personal Gmail addresses are not accepted by Google. If you use Google Workspace, your super admin does this step.
Do you install an app on the phone?
Google's Android Device Policy is set up automatically during enrollment. There is no separate NounDesk app.
Can I see where a phone is?
Only while it is in lost mode, by design.
What happens when someone leaves?
You choose: keep the device managed but unassigned, reassign it, retire it, or erase it. Nothing is erased automatically.
Can I try it without phones?
Yes. Demo mode loads a sample fleet of ten devices you can explore and change.
Is there a contract?
No. Monthly per device, cancel any time, no annual contract. 14-day free trial covering up to 50 devices, with no card required.
Does NounDesk monitor calls, messages or browsing?
No. NounDesk manages devices, not people. No call or message monitoring, no browsing history, no keylogging, no location tracking outside lost mode.
Is zero-touch enrollment available?
Yes, for phones bought through an authorized zero-touch reseller. They enroll automatically the first time they are switched on, with no QR code. Every other phone enrolls by scanning a QR code.
Can I force an Android update now?
No. Updates follow the schedule in your policy: automatic, a nightly window, or postponed. Security patches are never delayed.
Does the dashboard show battery level?
Only during lost mode. Android does not report battery to management tools otherwise, so NounDesk does not guess.
