Remote supportNew

Help employees with their phones, without the trip.

Remote support in NounDesk lets you help an employee with a company Android phone without being there. It works with your TeamViewer, AnyDesk or Splashtop account. NounDesk installs and links the vendor's app on the phone automatically, you turn remote support on or off per security policy, and one click on the device page opens the vendor's console. You need your own licence from that vendor, and the session runs in the vendor's app. NounDesk has no built-in remote control.

How do I help an employee with their phone remotely?

Connect the remote support tool you already pay for. NounDesk takes care of getting its app onto the right phones and linking it to your account.

  • Works with your TeamViewer, AnyDesk or Splashtop account.
  • NounDesk installs and links the vendor's app automatically.
  • Only phones whose policy has remote support turned on get the app.

Turn it on for some teams and off for others

Remote support is a setting in each security policy. Field crews who get stuck on a job can have it, while executives' phones never do.

  • On for field crews, off for executives, or any mix you like.
  • Change the policy and every phone on it follows.
  • The publish preview shows how many devices a change affects before it goes live.

Start a session from the device page

Find the phone in NounDesk, click once and the vendor's console opens on that device. No hunting for which phone is which.

  • The device page already knows which phone you mean.
  • The session runs in the vendor's app, the way your team already uses it.
  • Stuck settings, a job app that won't sign in, a Wi-Fi network that won't join: sorted without a drive.

What remote support needs

Remote support works with a vendor you choose, so there are two things to know before you start. Both are plain and there is nothing hidden.

  • You need your own licence from TeamViewer, AnyDesk or Splashtop.
  • Sessions run in the vendor's app. NounDesk has no built-in remote control.
  • Company-owned Android phones and tablets enrolled in NounDesk only.

A technician is standing in a customer's kitchen, and the job app won't sync because of one setting he can't find. Talking him through it over the phone takes twenty minutes. Driving out takes an hour. With remote support you open his phone from your desk and fix it with him in two.

Before you reach for remote support

Plenty of fixes don't need a live session at all. These remote actions run straight from NounDesk.

  • Reset password

An employee forgot their PIN and is locked out.

  • Clear app data

One app is stuck and needs a fresh start.

  • Reboot

The oldest fix there is, done from your desk.

  • Remote support

For everything else, open the vendor's console and fix it together.

Remote support: questions answered

Can I remote control an employee's Android phone?

Yes, through your TeamViewer, AnyDesk or Splashtop account. NounDesk sets up the vendor's app on the phone and opens the vendor's console in one click. The session itself runs in the vendor's app, because NounDesk has no built-in remote control.

Which remote support tools does NounDesk work with?

TeamViewer, AnyDesk and Splashtop. You pick the one your business already uses, and NounDesk installs and links its app on the phones where remote support is on.

Do I need my own TeamViewer, AnyDesk or Splashtop licence?

Yes. NounDesk works with your account, so you need a licence from the vendor. NounDesk itself is $1.50 per device per month with every feature included, and the vendor licence is billed separately by the vendor.

Does the employee have to install anything?

No. NounDesk installs and links the vendor's app automatically on every phone whose security policy has remote support turned on.

Can I turn remote support off for some people?

Yes. It is a security policy setting, so you can turn it on for field crews and leave it off for executives. Phones follow whichever policy they are on.
