Device dashboard and inventory

Ten devices, ten online, ten compliant. Or exactly which one isn't.

The NounDesk dashboard shows the state of your whole Android fleet in plain terms: how many devices are online, offline, compliant, need attention, carry a security risk, or are still waiting to enroll. Each device has its own page with hardware details, installed apps, security state, activity and the policy it follows.

What the dashboard tells you

Eight tiles across the top: total devices, online, offline, compliant, needs attention, security risks, open alerts and waiting for device. Below them, fleet health split three ways with the rule for each written beside it.

  • Healthy, Needs attention and Critical, each with its rule spelled out in a sentence.
  • No compliance codes to decode. A problem device reads Required app Jobber is missing.
  • The same numbers feed alerts and reports, so the three never disagree.

Charts you can read without a legend

Fleet health, compliance, connectivity, Device Trust and security-update age each have a donut chart. Every slice is labelled with its name, its count and its percentage, so nobody has to match colours to a key.

  • Fleet health reads 11 Healthy (92%) and 1 Needs attention (8%), in words as well as colour.
  • Labels, counts and percentages make every chart readable for colour-blind users.
  • Click a slice's label to jump straight to the devices behind it.

Honest connectivity, not a green dot that lies

Plenty of tools show a device as online long after it has gone quiet. NounDesk uses four states and tells you exactly what each one means.

  • Online means seen in the last 15 minutes. Recently offline means seen in the last 24 hours.
  • Offline means not seen for over 24 hours, and Not seen yet means enrolled but never checked in.
  • A technician whose phone died in a basement reads Recently offline, which is the truth.

Find any device in seconds

The device list has search, status tabs and filters, so the question you actually have is three clicks away rather than a scroll through a spreadsheet.

  • Filter by group, employee, policy, manufacturer and Android version, in any combination.
  • Show me every Samsung on Android 12 in the Delivery group takes three clicks.
  • Select several devices and a bulk bar appears for lock, reboot, policy change and reassignment.

The device page: six tabs, no digging

Every device has its own page, and everything you might need about it sits behind six tabs rather than scattered across the product.

  • Overview, Apps and Security cover who has it, what is installed and whether it meets policy.
  • Activity lists every command sent and what happened to it, with who sent it.
  • Hardware carries model, Android version and patch date, serial, IMEI where reported, storage, operator and last seen.

With five phones you keep track in your head. At fifteen, you stop being sure. The dashboard means you never have to wonder, and it answers in words you already use.

Where the dashboard fits

Three screens read from the same device data, so their numbers always agree.

  • The dashboard

    Where you notice something.

  • Alerts

How NounDesk notices it for you.

  • Reports

    How you show someone else.

Dashboard & inventory: questions answered

What does "Online" mean in NounDesk?

The device checked in within the last 15 minutes. "Recently offline" means it was seen in the last 24 hours, "Offline" means more than 24 hours, and "Not seen yet" means it has never checked in. Offline means not seen, not broken.

Can I see battery level?

Not in normal operation. Android only reports battery to management tools while a device is in lost mode, so NounDesk shows it only then rather than guessing.

What counts as "Needs attention"?

The rules are shown on the dashboard itself. Typically: a required app is missing or outdated, the security patch is old, or the device has not checked in for a day.

Are the dashboard charts readable if I'm colour-blind?

Yes. Every slice of every donut chart shows its label, its count and its percentage as text, so you never rely on colour alone. Click a label to open the matching devices.

Does the device page show the IMEI and serial number?

Yes, where the device reports them. You also see model, manufacturer, Android version and security patch date, storage used, network operator, last seen and enrollment date.
